  • Hoi! I’m Garam Choi.

    I have several questions.

    1. When is the due date for the application?
    2. If too many students applied, then will there be cut-off by application contents?
    3. Do students in USP coding, programming for the project too?

    Thank you in advance.

    • Manon de Lijster

Hi Garam! The due date for the application is the end of October, it’s not that strict. For the second question, we don’t want to send anyone away, but if there will be too many applicant from one field, we will have to select. And yes, programming might be needed, but not for all projects. The projects will be announced in two weeks.

      • Thank you for replying!

And what the projects will be about? Will there be specific categories?

        Thank you in advance.

        • Manon de Lijster

The projects will be from different disciplines or different categories. We are still evaluating the projects. As soon as we have the final projects (somewhere in the second half of October) we will advertise them as well.

    Dear Garam,
Thanks for applying for the challenge! We had to renew the application form and your data was gone. Could you fill it in again to make sure you are in the ring? 🙂

  • To whom it may concern,

I have just filled in the form but I am wondering how you will contact me with an (eventual) followup. Since it is a Google sheet, I assume it is through Gmail? Since I barely ever use my Gmail address I was wondering whether it is possible that you contact me on the email I attach to this message?

    Thanks in advance!

    Kindest regards,
    Maxim.

    • Kristof Fellegi

      Dear Maxim,

Thanks for applying for the challenge!
Of course, no problem. We will update your contact details in our registration form and keep you updated soon!

      Best regards, Kristof

  • To whom it may concern,

Yesterday I filled in the google form but I did not receive any confirmation email. Could you please confirm me that I have correctly applied for the challenge?

      Dear Pablo,

You didn’t fill in the field to indicate your email. Could you send a mail to kristof.fellegi@utrechtce.nl so that we will have it and can get back to you?

      Thanks, Kristof

  • Hi,

    This sounds interesting.

Could you give us an example of some of the projects we may be working on?
I’ve seen the solar panelled benches outside the Koningsbergergebouw; I suspect it could be something like this?

    Thanks
    Josh

    • Kristof Fellegi

      Dear Josh,

Thanks for your interest in the USP Student Challenge!

Challenges are coming from research groups/startups from USP. This doesn’t necessarily mean the topics of the challenges refer to solutions at USP.

We keep multidisciplinarity in mind both when selecting challenges and teams. So you can expect challenges from the field of medicine to sports, from chemistry to computer science.

We will notify all of you soon and announce the exact topics.

      Best regards,
      Kristof

  • Hi, I applied last week.
If there are a lot of applicants so that you have to select only some applicants,
I want to elaborate my application. Because I generally wrote about myself, and didn’t put details much.

How is selection process going now?

    Best regards,
    Garam

    • Kristof Fellegi

      Hi Garam,

We are still receiving applications till the 1st November. Then after an assessment and allocation we will let all of you know whether you have been selected and to which project.

The projects will be announced at the Kickoff event.

      Best regards,
      Kristof

  • Good morning,

Could non-students also apply? Last Summer I obtained my master’s degree from UU so I am not a student anymore, but I would love to join this programme!

    Kind regards,
    Evelien

    • Kristof Fellegi

      Dear Evelien,

Thanks for your interest in the USP Student Challenge.

It is great that you would like to participate! Basically the target audience is current students, but in this case we can make an exception. So I would encourage you to submit your application! Tomorrow (the 1st November) is the last day to do that.

      Best regards,
      Kristof

      • Evelien van Ierssel

        Dear Kristof,

Unfortunately I did not receive a notification of this message. I just submitted my application and hope it will still be processed as I would love to join the programme.

        Kind regards,
        Evelien

  • Hoi, I’m the applicant for this program.

When is the result of assessment for applicants supposed to be announced?
    I just want to check!

    Best regards,
    Garam
